Since 1965, the Littlest Angel Guild has dedicated our volunteer efforts to support awareness of CHOC Children's Hospital Mission: To nurture, advance and protect the health and well-being of children.
We promote the Mission of CHOC to raise funds that will enable the hospital's vision. We are proud of our achievement of funding three oncology rooms in the Bill Holmes Tower.
The Bill Holmes Tower Opening Ceremony was held on Saturday, February 2, 2013. Thank you to our members, patrons, and anyone that attended our events. You have made a difference in the lives of children! See the smiling face of one of our newest members, Stephanie, and her daughter, Angela, at the Opening to thank CHOC. See more here.
Our Guild Has Funded Three Oncology Rooms
For over 49 years, the Guild has raised funds to support the mission of CHOC Children's and we have made contributions of over $5 million.
Donations have funded the growth and development of community outreach programs, hospital facilities and free clinics.
In 2006, we established an endowment and our donations have continued to grow. In 2007, we contributed to the Guilds pledge to equip a Pediatric ICU room. CHOC Children's dedicated this room in 2008 on the 6th floor of the hospital. The patient room provides a comfortable environment that is so important in the recovery of a child.
In 2009-2012, we raised over $100,000 for one of the 28 Oncology Patient Rooms in the new tower. We also made a substantial commitment to the Littlest Angel Guild Endowment fund.
In 2012-2013, our Guild again pledging an Oncology Room in the Bill Holmes Tower. The Opening Ceremony was held in February 2013. All of the rooms were then consolidated on the 5th floor of the new wing.
In 2013-14, our Guild will contribute to the endowment we established in 2006. This endowment is among those that help to ensure the future of CHOC. The Guild has also pledged a portion of our pledge to support CHOC's Transport Team, who provide lifesaving care to the Children of CHOC.
At our March 2014 General meeting, Dr. Jason Knight, who is one of Orange County's Top Docs, spoke to the guild membership on the life saving work the Trauma Team does for CHOC. In 2014, a portion of our proceeds will go toward the Trauma Unit and a life-saving monitor.
